Functional expansion of store software

On behalf of the operator of an xt:Commerce store, eWorks carried out an extension to an existing store system. Several areas of the store were revised and new functionalities developed - including a B2B module.

A trading area was added to the xt:Commerce online store to enable B2B. This provides commercial store customers in their role as brokers with special functions after activation by the store operator, e.g. the maintenance of their customers and orders as well as commission invoicing.

The XTC web store has also been expanded to include an hourly, automatic product price update based on a basic price obtained via a web service and taking into account product-specific features.

A new sales portal was also added to the website, which allows store customers to offer their products for sale to the store operator (in the opposite direction to the store). To implement this, the existing web store was expanded to include the completely new "offer process", as a reversal of the typical eCommerce ordering process.

The extensions were developed in mid-2009 and went live on schedule at the end of Q3/2009. Since then, eWorks has been supporting the store operator with the maintenance and further development of the new B2B functions.
