Programming a Microsoft Word template

VBA development of a Word template for creating CI-compliant documents

The Stuttgart-based creative agency "die wegmeister gmbh" commissioned eWorks to develop a Microsoft Word document template for the quick and easy creation of CI-compliant Word documents on behalf of a transmission network operator. A high degree of user-friendliness combined with a number of useful additional functions was to ensure rapid user acceptance and significantly improve the CI conformity of Word documents created throughout the company.

In the first step, the client's design specifications (layout, fonts, formats, spacing, headers and footers, graphics, etc.) were transferred to a new, blank Word template and its visual appearance was then fine-tuned in close consultation with the client. This was followed by the Word programming of the desired additional functions with the help of VBA macros. These Word macros enable users to quickly insert CI-compliant tables, text fields, etc. into their own Word documents with a single mouse click, for example, without the need for time-consuming formatting.

eWorks supported its client in the creation of this Word template, starting with the conception and Word VBA development through to the handover and commissioning of the Word template. Afterwards, eWorks is available to its client for operating questions, any error reports (warranty) and occasional enhancement requests ("change requests" or CRs).
