OXID programming of the Knuffelwuff online store
Webshop development for exquisite dog beds
The "Kweet UG (haftungsbeschränkt)" (Oelde) has commissioned eWorks as a certified OXID partner with the conception and development of the online store www.knuffelwuff.de based on OXID eShop. In its web store, Kweet UG offers dog beds made of high-quality materials, the best workmanship and sophisticated design.
Knuffelwuff was nominated for the "Shop Usability Award 2014" in the "Leisure, Hobby & Pets" category.
At the beginning of the OXID store development, the OXID eShop software was installed on a demonstration system. This made it possible for the client to view the current development status at any time. On the basis of this common foundation, simpler and more precise agreements were possible. The decision to use the free OXID eShop Community Edition 4.7.8 had already been made before the start of the project.
During the second project phase, the web design developed by an external design agency was prepared by eWorks for the OXID store. Following the preparation of the web design drafts, the finished web design was broken down into HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery and integrated into the store's OXID eShop templates. In order to display the desired design effects, the OXID banner slider was replaced by the Nivo slider and an individual module was also programmed to display additional banner sliders on other pages (e.g. content pages, category pages, etc.). Last but not least, the OXID templates were subjected to browser optimization for all current web browsers and search engine optimization (SEO) for Google and other Internet search engines. Further SEO measures were then implemented in consultation with a commissioned SEO agency.
After the installation and optimization of the web design, a registration and approval process for retailers was implemented in order to obtain some retailer-specific benefits, such as discounts, after registration as a retailer and approval by the store operator. In addition, a module was programmed to display the net item prices to registered retailers.
In the next project phase, the "OXID Shop Module OXID to Afterbuy" was installed and configured in order to be able to export OXID orders to Afterbuy. Secondly, the "CleverReach Connector" module was implemented in order to export information from the OXID store to CleverReach and thus be able to carry out targeted email marketing. At the client's request, a Yalst live chat was also connected to enable modern customer support. The fourth phase of the project also involved setting up the store in terms of shipping methods, payment methods and other store settings. The payment service providers BillSafe (purchase on account), Sofortüberweisung and PayPal were connected to enable simple online payment. Google Analytics was also integrated, as web controlling can be used to draw conclusions about optimization opportunities.
In the final phase of the project, eWorks advised the store operator on suitable web hosts and rented a suitable web server. The completed online store was installed on the server by eWorks and put into operation. The Knuffelwuff store went online at www.knuffelwuff.de on March 13, 2014. After the store went live, the Trusted Shops certification process could begin, which was supported by eWorks. Requirements and other change requests were implemented until nothing stood in the way of successful certification. After the certification was completed, the Trusted Shops seal was installed in the webshop, which has been a guarantee of the reliability and trustworthiness of www.knuffelwuff.de ever since.
eWorks supported the client in an advisory capacity following commissioning, rectified any defects (warranty) and carried out extensions to the store functions on request.
