Online store programming with OXID eShop for property greening

Raumflora GmbH (Landau i. d. Pfalz) offers an extensive product range of innovative greening systems from well-known manufacturers and commissioned eWorks as OXID developer with the conception, design and development of the online store www.TopfMeetsPflanze.de. Raumflora wanted to have an online store developed with moderate costs but with the ability to expand and scale: the choice of store system therefore fell on OXID eShop from the Freiburg-based eCommerce experts OXID eSales AG. The OXID eShop costs were a decisive factor in this decision: an unbeatable €0.00 for the free OXID eShop Community Edition (OXID CE) in the open source version.

The first project phase was dedicated to the graphic design and technical implementation of a suitable web design for the new OXID store to be created and was characterized by several rounds of coordination. The final web design impresses with large, high-quality images and bold colors, which optimally underline the creative plant arrangements. The web store design was then technically prepared, broken down into HTML and CSS and integrated into the OXID templates. The final step was browser optimization for all common web browsers, followed by search engine optimization for Google, Bing and other search engines (on-site SEO).

Following web design, browser optimization and SEO, individual enhancements were made to the functional scope of the Oxidshop in order to perfectly optimize the newly designed online store to the needs of the client and the floristry industry. For example, Raumflora had an OXID module created for the web store that differentiates between B2B and B2C by enabling a clear separation between corporate and private customers. Last but not least, eWorks supported the store operator with the initial entry of the store content and familiarization with the newly developed e-commerce store.

The Oxid store was graphically and technically designed and implemented by eWorks, installed on a rented web server and saw the light of day on 01.09.2014 as planned. Raumflora had the online store created and has been operating it on its own ever since. As an OXID agency, eWorks continues to provide support in an advisory capacity if required, rectifies any defects (warranty), carries out design adjustments on request and also takes on additional programming jobs if required, e.g. if the client wishes to have further OXID modules programmed for the web store.
