Online store development from www.mucamie.de with OXID eShop
OXID programming of an online store for sustainable designer clothing
eWorks was commissioned by Mucamie GmbH (Munich) with the conception, graphic design and programming of the online store www.mucamie.de. The Mucamie online store is a fashion platform far from the mainstream and offers its customers stylish clothing and accessories by young artists who want to develop together with the online store. Mucamie focuses on "Made in Europe" in order to offer store customers the best possible textile quality without exploitation and stands for social commitment, small quantities, tested production processes and extraordinary attention to detail.
The store development of www.mucamie.de was based on the so-called Community Edition of OXID eShop 4.7 (OXID eShop CE for short), the open source store system from the Freiburg-based eCommerce specialist OXID eSales AG. The store development started with the creation of the web design, which was carried out in close consultation between the graphic designer, web designer and client. The aim was to create a store layout that was in no way inferior to the store products on offer in terms of clarity and unconventionality. At the client's request, an additional, second store template was then designed to present selected store items in the layout of a shop window. Once the web design was complete, it was prepared for display in the web browser, broken down into HTML and CSS, integrated into the Smarty templates of the OXID store and optimized for all common web browsers. This was followed by the obligatory search engine optimization of the OXID store to enable the store articles to be found optimally in Google and other search engines (SEO).
Once the web design, browser and search engine optimization had been completed, the focus was on adapting OXID eShop to the client's specific needs, in particular the diverse setting options and payment methods of OXID eShop. The pre-installed payment methods from the OXID eShop scope of delivery were extended to include payment by direct debit and credit card by means of a Heidelpay connection. Last but not least, Facebook integration was implemented in the form of a reciprocal connection between the Mucamie webshop and the Facebook page.
For the final installation and commissioning of the developed online store, eWorks advised its client on possible web hosts, provided support with server rental and installed the developed online store. After a short warm-up phase, the new store www.mucamie.de saw the light of day on October 28, 2013. Following the launch, eWorks supports its client with advice, rectifies any defects (warranty) and carries out functional enhancements on request.
