Modernization of a management reporting/controlling application

Handling the relocation and modernization of a management reporting / controlling application.

The Steigenberger Hotel Group is a globally active hotel company with more than 90 hotels, which also has to solve challenging problems in the field of information technology.

eWorks supported the Steigenberger Hotel Group "on site" at its Frankfurt headquarters with the migration and modernization of an intranet application for management reporting and controlling, which was originally written for PHP 4 and was getting on in years, to a more future-proof platform with PHP 5.6 under Windows Server and Internet Information Services (IIS).

A concept for an NTFS-ACL-based rights structure was designed and implemented, which allows access to be conveniently controlled via the Active Directory. The challenge in this task was to transfer the granular structure of groups and individual users 1:1 to the file system.
