Medical-Tribune - Software maintenance and support

Taking over website maintenance tasks

eWorks was able to step in at short notice for Medical Tribune Verlagsgesellschaft for the further support of two maintenance tasks.

Our expertise was in demand both for the technical revision of the fee manual for doctors and for the ongoing support of the website.

Legal changes, adjustments to the fee rates and other improvements make it necessary to reissue the fee manual at regular intervals. eWorks was able to support the editors, make minor adjustments to the content management system and provide the interface for printing. A content management system (CMS) customized by an agency for this purpose was used. The CMS is written in PHP and MySQL, works on Linux servers and uses XML for data exchange.

The support for Medical Tribune's main website, which ran for several months, started where the on-board tools of the content management system were no longer sufficient for the editors' daily work. We were able to take over all the technical website support tasks: Starting with replacing hard-wired images and texts, advising on technical issues, providing assistance, looking after the newsletter, through to correcting errors that occur over the years of operation. The website CMS has a similar structure to the CMS used to create the fee manual and is also based on PHP, MySQL and Linux.
