Customization and rollout of HR software for EMC in 8 countries
eWorks supported an IT department of EMC Deutschland GmbH in the country-specific customization and rollout of HR software in a total of 8 different African and Latin American countries.
Between October 2004 and May 2005, two eWorks employees made the necessary adjustments to a Java application and associated stored procedures based on Java 1.3.1 and MS SQL Server 2000 in order to adapt an existing HR software to the national circumstances of various countries.
The task of eWorks consisted of the collection and documentation of legal, cultural and internal company requirements in a total of 8 countries, the conception and implementation of the corresponding changes and extensions, as well as the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant documentation of all functional and technical changes to be made.
User interface and calculation for various areas such as overtime, availability and vacation were conceptually expanded and implemented. In addition, various reports and export interfaces to other IT systems were implemented.
The development was carried out on the basis of Java and MS SQL Server / T-SQL. The Java development was carried out using JBuilder and Eclipse. Reports were created using "Elixir Report". Version management was carried out using CVS. SOX documentation was created using MS Word.
