Development of a registration route with evaluation option based on Zend Framework

Web-based registration procedure for a school competition

At the beginning of 2014, eWorks developed an online registration option for a student competition based on Zend Framework. The registration route was seamlessly integrated into the existing content management system. Furthermore, an independent administration area with corresponding maintenance and evaluation functions was implemented.

As the target group is made up of both teachers and students with different levels of computer skills, great importance was attached to an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Thanks to a responsive design with the Bootstrap Framework, which was also used in the administration area, all content adapts flexibly to different screen sizes as well as end devices such as desktop PCs, tablets and smartphones.

The administration area was equipped with a rights and roles system to restrict the access of individual user groups to the desired functions and data records. The Zend Framework Access Control List functions (ACL for short) are used for this purpose. The maintenance and evaluation functions, which also include an Excel export, cover master data and login data. Furthermore, an interface for setting general application parameters has been provided, which is also based on the Zend Framework functions for application configuration.
