Development of a concept store with OXID eShop
OXID programming of an online store for modern garden design
The online retailer Garten im Quadrat (Bad Homburg) commissioned eWorks with the conception, programming and graphic design of the online store www.garten-im-quadrat.de. Garten im Quadrat offers high-quality products for modern garden design from many European countries (Scandinavia, Italy, Germany, etc.). The webshop www.garten-im-quadrat.de is based on the Community Edition of OXID eShop 4.8 (OXID eShop CE for short), the open-source store system from the Freiburg-based eCommerce specialist OXID eSales AG.
At the beginning of the store development, the graphic web design draft was developed in close consultation with the client. The design was to be as puristic as the products on offer, so particular attention was paid to the large-scale design with high-quality, large-scale images. After continuous refinement of the web design, it was broken down into HTML and CSS and then integrated into the OXID templates. This was followed by search engine optimization (SEO) for Google and other search engines to make the new web store easier to find. After the optimization, eWorks supported the client in maintaining the store content.
The OXID store was then adapted to the customer's specific needs, in particular the payment methods, shipping methods and many other customization options were tailored to the requirements of the store operator. In particular, the OXID payment methods were expanded to include a PayPal connection and a Paymill connection for credit card payments. To demonstrate the trustworthiness of the new web store, the Thawte "Trusted Site Seal" was integrated, which guarantees the identity of the online store.
eWorks advised the store operator on which web host to use and rented a suitable web server. The completed online store was installed on the server by eWorks, put into operation and handed over in working order. On June 18, 2014, the Garten im Quadrat store went online at www.garten-im-quadrat.de. eWorks supported the client in an advisory capacity following the launch, rectified any defects (warranty) and carried out individual enhancements to the store functions on request.
