Development and programming of the intranet for the Max Rubner Institute

Web development with TYPO3 6.2

The Max Rubner Institute (MRI) is a federal research institute for nutrition and food with headquarters in Karlsruhe and supports the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in consumer health protection in the area of nutrition.

At the request of the MRI, eWorks took over the programming and development of the intranet presence based on the open source content management system TYPO3 in the then Long Term Support version 6.2.

The main focus of the intranet is the extended and detailed search, which, in addition to the usual "search website" function, also allows searching and filtering for results from selected categories, files or even people.

In addition to the general press and publication pages and an internal image database, the institute has been given its own news area for editorial content for each location. Intranet users can use the events calendar to keep up to date with current events and take part in surveys on various topics.

The MRI's HR department is also supported in its work by the job vacancy management system developed by eWorks.

The new intranet site has been available to employees of the Max Rubner Institute since February 12, 2015. Since then, eWorks has been providing technical support.
