B2B store programming for the Teltec online store
Creation of an OXID store for B2B media and AV solutions
eWorks was commissioned by Teltec AG (Mainz-Kastel) to design and develop the online store www.teltec.de, which offers a wide range of products from all leading manufacturers of professional AV solutions specifically for B2B customers. The store software OXID eShop Professional Edition was used as the basis for the B2B store creation, visually and functionally adapted and equipped with additional modules.
As a certified OXID partner, eWorks handled the installation and adaptation of the OXID eShop software to the client's individual requirements, as well as the installation of the store's web design and its browser and search engine optimization (on-site SEO). In addition to the pre-installed payment methods, eWorks also implemented payment by credit card, instant bank transfer and PayPal via the payment provider EVO Payments International GmbH (Cologne). To optimize the store search, an error-tolerant search from D³ Data Development (Thalheim) including autosuggest and after-search navigation was installed, configured and integrated into the web store.
After completing the store customization, eWorks programmed numerous individual B2B extensions into the web store at the client's request, including
- Short article URLs for print catalogs (www.teltec.de/artikelnummer)
- Sales promotion through so-called "badges" on the article images (e.g. "New!")
- Automatic display of the percentage price saving compared to the RRP
- Additional filter and sorting options in the category views
- Quick order (via direct article number entry)
- Inquiry forms for advice, rental, leasing or financing of products
- Leasing calculator
- Product insurance
- Form for notification of item availability (coming soon request)
- Returns management (e.g. returns form)
- Password policy to enforce a password security standard
- Additional protection of the ordering process and customer account (by logging in again)
At the same time, eWorks supported its client throughout the entire store development process in connecting its SAGE merchandise management system to the new OXID eShop. The OXID SAGE connection itself was carried out by 1st Vision GmbH (Schwaig), but eWorks provided support with the necessary OXID adaptations and store extensions. Thanks to the SAGE interface, article data (including article images and categories) is transferred fully automatically from the SAGE ERP system to the OXID store and orders (including customer and address data) back to the SAGE merchandise management system. At the client's request, the shop-side order processing and invoicing was also deactivated and transferred to SAGE, which now generates order confirmations, invoices, etc. (instead of the OXID store), sends them by e-mail, then imports them (back) into the OXID store and stores them there in the customer account as a PDF (for self-service purposes).
Following the store customization, web design installation and OXID module programming, eWorks carried out the commissioning of the OXID store on a previously rented web server in consultation with the client. Since then, eWorks has been available to its client under a maintenance agreement (support contract) for change requests, troubleshooting or general eCommerce consulting, and has maintained and continuously developed the Teltec OXID store.
