Erfahrungen aus Projekten zur digitalen Souveränität
Programming an event management tool for Targecy(2025)
In 2023, Targecy GmbH (Frankfurt) commissioned eWorks, a Microsoft Excel specialist, to program an Excel scheduling assistant for its annual networking event in order to be able to plan several hundred 10-minute meetings across parallel time slots without collisions. Due to the annual increase in the number of participants, Targecy GmbH needed a tool that could automatically calculate the previously manually planned appointment series in future. The aim of this digitalization was to optimize the quality of results while reducing working time and process duration. For the eWorks Excel developers, this was the start of a highly consultative software project with intensive data analysis, mathematical algorithms and impressive efficiency gains. Microsoft Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) quickly proved to be the platform of choice for this specific Excel solution. This is because VBA programming enables maximum agility with minimum development costs and optimum Microsoft Office compatibility - which was important in order to populate the Outlook appointment calendar fully automatically and provide all users with the best possible experience. The eWorks Excel programmers consistently relied on the client's existing Microsoft Office environment: an Excel workbook with embedded VBA macros (.xlsm file) contains the customized business logic, structured data entry for participants, requests and availabilities as well as an individual Excel ribbon for convenient navigation. As usual in Excel, planning runs can be configured, target weights can be varied and all restrictions can be fully customized. All calculation results are evaluated with comprehensible key figures and can be readjusted directly in Excel if necessary. For communication with the participants, various Word serial letters are available, such as appointment overviews or schedules, which can be automatically prepared, addressed and sent by e-mail - including iCal attachments for inviting participants to appointments. The project was therefore interdisciplinary from the outset and required cross-team collaboration between the eWorks Word, Excel and Outlook programmers and the WordPress specialists from the website team.
Development of B2B store for Volkswagen Group Original Teile Logistik, Vertrieb & Services GmbH(2025)
In 2018, Volkswagen Group Original Teile Logistik, Vertrieb & Services GmbH from Baunatal commissioned the Frankfurt-based eCommerce specialist eWorks GmbH with an exciting online store project: they were looking for an OXID agency with many years of experience to implement a multi-brand B2B web store. After intensive workshops with various online store agencies and a convincing offer, eWorks was awarded the contract to develop the new OTLG store as an OXID service provider. OTLG wanted to have a professional B2B store created so that service partners, workshops and dealers could order wheels, tires, workshop equipment and other accessories from the various group brands in the future. The choice fell on the proven store system OXID eShop in the powerful "Enterprise B2B Edition", not least because of its unlimited customizability and integrated client system.
Rebranding www.mtx-shop.de with OXID eShop 7.1 for MedTriX GmbH(2025)
MedTriX GmbH (Wiesbaden) commissioned eWorks, the Frankfurt-based OXID agency 2024, with the content and graphic redesign of the MedTriX online store at www.mtx-shop.de: a rebranding including a new web design and technical modernization during ongoing operations. The objective was to rebuild the store with OXID 7.1, a consistent corporate design and a clear content structure for medical literature, training materials for doctors and patient information. MedTriX GmbH wanted to create a new online store that would inform and serve B2C and B2B customers alike. As an online store agency, eWorks successfully implemented the web design, programming and data migration.
Word-Vorlagen erstellen lassen durch Digitalisierung mit Excel & VBA(2025)
Die Bürgermeister-Reuter-Stiftung (BRST) mit Sitz in Berlin beauftragte eWorks als Frankfurter Microsoft-Partner und Word-Spezialisten 2022 mit der Konsolidierung einer historisch gewachsenen Word-Vorlagenlandschaft. Über die gesamte Stiftungsgruppe hinweg kursierten – je nach Dokumentart, Firmierung und Corporate Design – rund 500 Word-Vorlagen und andere Dokumente, die bei jeder Änderung an Unternehmensdaten, Formatvorlagen oder Layout einzeln anzupassen waren. Diese manuelle Pflege war arbeitsintensiv, langwierig, teuer und fehleranfällig. Der Auftrag: Strukturen verschlanken, Inhalte zentralisieren und einen Vorlagen-Generator entwickeln, mit dem sich Word-Vorlagen erstellen lassen - um Pflegeaufwände zu reduzieren und Dokumentprozesse zu digitalisieren.
Digital relaunch for the State Chamber of Pharmacists of Hesse with TYPO3 LTS 12.4(2025)
In 2024, eWorks was commissioned by the State Chamber of Pharmacists of Hesse (Frankfurt am Main) to completely relaunch its website at www.apothekerkammer.de. As a public corporation, the chamber is a central point of contact for over 6,000 pharmacists in Hesse - the requirements for functionality, reliability and user-friendliness were correspondingly high. As an experienced TYPO3 developer, eWorks was responsible for both the graphic design and the technical implementation with the TYPO3 LTS 12.4 content management system.
Excel-Programmierung eines dynamischen Pricing-Tools für RAJA(2019)
Die Rajapack GmbH, Teil der internationalen RAJA-Gruppe, beauftragte eWorks im August 2019 mit der Entwicklung eines dynamischen Pricing-Tools auf Basis von Microsoft Excel und VBA. Zur technischen Umsetzung wurde daher ein erfahrener Excel-Entwickler gesucht, der eine maßgeschneiderte Lösung für die Preisberechnung entwickeln konnte. Ziel war eine flexible und automatisierte Lösung zur Preiskalkulation und Simulation von Produktpreisen, die den Anforderungen des deutschen Marktes entsprach und perspektivisch auf weitere Vertriebsregionen ausgedehnt werden konnte. Diese Excel-Auftragsprogrammierung wurde als eigenständige Lösung im Rahmen eines Festpreisauftrags umgesetzt.
Excel programming REWE recruiting database(2025)
REWE Markt GmbH commissioned eWorks, the Frankfurt-based Excel specialist, to develop an Excel tool for the HR department in July 2022. REWE wanted to have a reporting tool programmed in Excel that would fully automate the monthly recording, evaluation and visualization of application and recruitment figures.
Development of a contract management system(2025)
Who hasn't experienced this? Contracts are collected on the network drive, but there is no easily searchable overview. Reminders of notice periods are not automated and whether a contract is currently active, has been terminated or extended often requires time-consuming research. It was precisely from this situation that eWorks came up with the idea of creating a central, clear and user-friendly solution for digital contract management - based directly on the existing Microsoft 365 platform.
Excel VBA programming for the Goethe University Frankfurt(2025)
After an intensive search, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main commissioned eWorks as a certified Excel specialist and Microsoft partner in December 2018 to develop a tailor-made Excel VBA solution to optimize the tendering process for cleaning services. The company was looking for a qualified Excel service provider who could implement both the technical and visual requirements for the tender documents. The contract was awarded by the Real Estate Management division, which is responsible for facility management at all four university campuses: Westend, Riedberg, Bockenheim and Ginnheim. The regional proximity was not only practical for personal meetings, but also for the direct line to the university: eWorks employs numerous alumni of Goethe University - even the two founders and managing directors once studied computer science there. Home game! In order to get started right away, a flexible support contract was concluded so that eWorks could program, expand and optimize Excel macros on demand as an "extended workbench". Since then, more than a hundred tickets have been successfully processed and several person-months of development work have been invested.
Outlook programming of an XRechnung tool for the Landesbetrieb LBB(2021)
In mid-2021, Landesbetrieb LBB (Mainz) commissioned eWorks to develop a custom Outlook add-in to optimize its email workflow and the processing of e-invoices in XML data format (XRechnungen). Public authorities were already obliged to support XRechnungen at that time, which is why LBB wanted to have an intelligent Outlook add-in programmed for its team to simplify daily email traffic. To this end, LBB published a tender to find a certified Microsoft Outlook programmer, and the contract was ultimately awarded to eWorks.
Template creation for Word, PowerPoint, Writer, Impress and LaTeX for a university in Munich(2023)
In 2015, a large Munich university faced a challenge: a new, modern corporate design - but the document templates? Outdated, inconsistent, cumbersome. Together with ediundsepp Gestaltungsgesellschaft mbH, the university set out to find a solution. The choice fell on eWorks - Microsoft partner and specialist for customized Office templates. The university behind the order wanted to have professional Word templates created, but also PowerPoint templates, OpenOffice and LibreOffice templates and even LaTeX templates - a rare combination and therefore a challenge for the Microsoft Word specialist eWorks. Objective: Standardized templates that simply work! No more wild formatting, no eternal search for the right template - just a well thought-out system that complies with corporate design guidelines and makes working with documents easier, faster and more professional. Another particular challenge was to take into account the different ideas of the individual faculties with regard to layout, structure and content, while at the same time being able to maintain and service the wealth of templates for the various applications in a cost-efficient manner. eWorks impressed with its clever, cost-efficient concept, its many years of Microsoft Office expertise and its experience as a VBA service provider - and was ultimately awarded the contract to program a corresponding template system.
MicroElectronics Cloud Alliance MECA(2016)
The MicroElectronics Cloud Alliance - MECA for short - brings together 18 colleges, universities and small and medium-sized enterprises from a total of 9 European countries to jointly create a cloud approach for teaching, training and further education in the field of microelectronics. The aim is to create open teaching materials, provide remote access and create shared use of training and professional user software. There will also be shared access to hardware and virtual laboratory functions.
